I have a list of acid reflux food to avoid to stop heartburn. This is a list of the food that you should not eat if you are having problems with this diseases. I also have a few things that you should eat, as well as some things that you should not do. By doing some of the things on this list you are going to be able to stop your heartburn once and for all. Life is too short to have to live it in pain, and you should not have to. So it's time for you to stand up, and take charge of your life by taking control of your heartburn.

First of all, the best way to stop acid reflux is to change your diet. By this I mean watch the different types of things that you are eating. Some of these things you should already know not to eat, others could be new. Do not get anything with a lot of acid in it. This goes for a lot of fruits like tomatoes, oranges, and grapefruit. These things are very high in acid, and are going to make your heartburn super bad. Next, you are going to have to lay off things like beer and wine. Any alcoholic drink can make your heartburn start up. Some other things that you may not want to drink would be soda or carbonated water of any kind. Also, remember you have to stay away from things like fruit juice, because it's just as bad as the fruit itself. Try not to drink much coffee, and if you are a smoker, then you need to stop. If you are not a smoker, then you just need to stay away from people that do smoke. Last but not least, do not eat spicy foods. This is the number one cause of all  types of heartburn. The spicy foods can make your stomach acid act up, and this can cause a lot of health problems. It's not that you can not eat it at all, but you need to cut way back on it. Just have some every once in a while.

Now if that does not work at stopping your heartburn or GERD, then there are a few things that you can try to eat to help get rid of your heartburn. First of all, if you are having heartburn, you need to try and drink a glass of milk. Now any kind of milk will do, but low fat or non fat milk works the best. This is because fatty foods can make your heartburn worse. That being said, you need to stay away from really fatty foods. This includes fast food and things like fired chicken. Next, try and get some more protein in your diet this can really help take the edge off your heartburn. Another thing that you can try, if you are having a bad case of heartburn, is celery. Yes that is right, celery. This is one of the things that most doctors recommend to stop heartburn right away. In fact, celery has a lot of health benefits for you. Eating some raw celery can stop all heartburn right in its tracks. Another thing that you should try and do is cook with more ginger. This can be a good way to help things in your stomach digest faster. The quicker you get the food in and out, the better. This will cause your stomach to naturally make less acid to tear down the food.
